JN Chevrolet was packed with salivating MMA fans and a ton of anxious fighters. The newest installment of 808 Battleground is sure to blow the others away. With a stacked card of young prospects and familiar faces, there are fights for all to enjoy. The excitement was high as all the fighters weighed in and prepared for battle. Thanks to Hooters, all of the fighters were treated to a meal after weigh ins.
But now that the weights have been documented, and the fighters have replenished their bodies, there is nothing left to do but slug it out in the cage at the Filcom. Almost every single fighter was showing the fire in their eyes tonight. As always the Hawaii boys have come to scrap. Hard to really pick the key match ups in this one but rest assured it is not for lack of great bouts. There are just too many good fights on this card.
Some good prospects who will be on display are Edward Thommes, Maki Pitolo, Micah Ige, Julio Moreno, Ian Dela Cuesta, Michael Winkelspecht and Russell Doane. Not to mention there are also two fighters who have traveled here from Guam in order to take on the best in Hawaii in Josh Alvarez and Jon Delos Reyes.
"If I don't fight then I don't eat" said Delos Reyes, " This is the toughest fight of my career. This is where I prove myself."
"Coming here and representing Guam is a great feeling" Said Alvarez, " But with that comes a lot of pressure."
The two fighters from Guam seem ready and willing to take their fights anywhere they go. Both have only one loss and say they are not going to give another mark to the loss column. They told MMA Hawaii that being from Guam limits what they can do in their fight careers and that is why they have traveled here to Hawaii to challenge themselves and grow as fighters win or lose. With all of Guam cheering them on, they will enter the cage tomorrow night at 808 Battleground in Waipahu.
I hope to see you all there tomorrow night. The preparation is over and there is nothing left but the fight. The action is guaranteed so be at the Filcom with ticket in hand as war is waged at the 808 Battleground.
